The WSU DNA sequencing facility provides fast, reliable and accurate DNA sequencing for a variety of sample types including plasmid DNA as well as PCR product. The sequencing core also allows the investigator to sequence with common primer sequences (T7,T3, SP6, M13 Forward & M13 Reverse) as well as client-provided custom primers. With the Applied Biosystems ABI Prism 3730 DNA Analyzer the core is able to sequence as many as 96 samples at a time and over 570 samples per day. The Sequencing Core offers the investigator the option of performing their own sequencing reactions, or the reactions may be done by our staff using the ABI BigDye® Terminator v3.1 chemistry. With the BigDye® Terminator v3.1 Cycle Sequencing Kits, you get robust, highly flexible chemistries for a wide range of applications, including de novo sequencing and resequencing. The kits' new chemistries sequence difficult templates, dinucleotide repeats, and other challenging sequences far better than older chemistries. With BigDye Terminator v3.1 superior chemistries, you generate data with uniform peak heights and optimized signal balance-which results in longer, higher-quality reads. You also get more accurate base assignments for heterozygote and mutation detection. Results delivery can occur electronically as well as a paper hard-copy (for a fee).
