Software Projects
LARALink
LARALink is a database driven web application, which utilizes several
public datasets important for analysis of genetic disorders. LARALink
allows UniGene clusters or SNPs to be queried for multiple patients
by cytoband, marker or base pair range. The results can be further
refined with the use of an expression filter which utilizes a standardized
electronic vocabulary.
GIMS
A web-enabled database system for organizing and managing clinical
case information related to human genes and genetic disorders. The
system utilizes JSP and Javascript for the user interface, while
the database is written in Oracle RDBMS. All transactions are secured
via SSL sessions.
Sample
Submission
Web interfaces, designed for ease of use, that
allow a researcher to enter samples on the web, which ultimately
are analyzed by the WSU Genomics Facility.
LIMS
Our customizations to Applied Biosystems SQL LIMS allow us to efficiently track various types of lab samples. We also support 2-D Bar Code Sample Tracking and manage project and contact information for billing.
R / Bioconductor (Grid Computing)
IBM has donated a 1350 Linux Cluster to the AGTC. We have been working with C&IT to make this part of the campus wide grid initiative . Currently users can analyze microarray and sequence data using a variety of open-source and freeware tools such as R, Bioconductor, emboss, and the NCBI Toolikit.
