Welcome

The Genome Sciences Core is one of several research resources and enabling technology platforms supported by the Vice President for Research (https://research.wayne.edu/cores-facilities).

The Genome Sciences Core replaces the Applied Genomics Technology Center which was initially established in 1998 as a centralized resource for genomic studies for Wayne State University researchers.

The newly restructured Genome Sciences Core offers a streamlined set of services that includes competitive pricing (see menu item on left - "Pricing") with built-in quality assurance standards.

The core has now operationalized the latest next generation sequencing platform - Illumina's NovaSeq 6000 and consolidated functional space within the ground floor at the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development (275 E. Hancock Street) at Wayne State University in Detroit.

The team is available to consult for specific aspects of project development and will provide letters of support for grant submission in coordination with the Office of the Vice President for Research.
